The US Department of Education will soon release program information and applications for the 2016 Teacher Quality Partnership Program. This program is designed to enhance the quality of teachers in the United States. "The Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) Grant Program aims to increase student achievement by improving the quality of new prospective teachers by enhancing the preparation of prospective teachers and the professional development activities for current teachers; holding teacher preparation programs at institutions of higher education (IHEs) accountable for preparing highly qualified teachers; and recruiting effective individuals, including minorities and individuals from other occupations, into the teaching force." Schools, education consortiums, and teacher organizations are encouraged to read the current available information and prepare for the imminent release of the FY 2016 application.
