Applications are now being accepted for trails, biking, and walking projects. The Federal Highway Administration is heading a $98 million grant program that offers communities a great opportunity to tackle a community improvement project. Municipalities, government entities, and other non-profit groups are eligible to submit a proposal. Grants will be awarded after a competitive review based on criteria that include public benefit, air quality improvement, and innovation.
Funds in New York state are administered by the NYS Department of Transportation. NYSDOT is planning informational webinars and workshops during the week of September 12.
Project applicants must attend a workshop in order to receive consideration for their proposed project.
