21 Century Community Learning Centers Grants

The New York State Education Department has released the new 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant application. The purpose of this grant is to provide academic enrichment to help students at high-needs schools meet the New York State academic standards. Eligible applicants include Local Education Agencies, Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), public or private Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), not-for-profit and for-profit organizations or agencies. "To be eligible for this grant, at least 2/3 of the students an applicant is proposing to serve must attend
  1. schools eligible for schoolwide programs under Title I, Section 1114 of the Every Student Succeeds Act, and the families of these students, or 
  2. schools with at least 40 percent of students eligible for free or reduced priced lunch; and the families of these students."

NYS CCLC funds are from 21st Century Community Learning Centers, a federally-funded program which supports the creation of community learning centers for students, particularly those who attend high poverty and low-performing schools, and their families.
