Request for Qualifications: The Smart Start grant program seeks to help NYS school districts increase K-8 Educator Expertise in STEM Subject areas by providing professional development and support services to districts from a non-profit organization or Institution of Higher Education partner. Subject areas will include science, technology, engineering and math, along with computer science, and educational technology. The goal is to enable teachers to become in-house experts in their schools. For elementary and middle school students, computer science concepts and skills may be integrated into teaching science and mathematics as well as art and music, or other core classes. As this program gets underway, they are looking for Qualified Personnel to provide the professional development and support component to this program.
Eligibility: Non-Profit Organizations and Institutions of Higher Education. BOCES and for-profit companies are not eligible to apply.
