Gates Foundation Professional Learning Partnerships Now Seeking Proposals

Grant Opportunity: The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is currently accepting proposals for its Professional Learning Partnerships award program. This program supports partnerships that advance curriculum-connected professional learning services in order to develop high-quality instructional materials for middle and high schools that serve high percentages of Black, Latino, English Learner (EL)-designated, and/or low-income students.

Proposals should focus on the implementation of instructional materials in one of the following disciplines:  mathematics; English language arts; or middle school science.

Eligibility: Eligible applicants are teams of organizations that include schools, districts, and other community stakeholders, and have existing curriculum-aligned products that have been tested and used in schools for at least two school years. 

Teams must be headquartered or provide services in California, Florida, Georgia, New York, or North Carolina or must include LEAs serving at least 50,000 students, and proposed services must be tested in schools serving at least 50 percent Black, Latino, EL-designated, and/or low-income students.

Grant Period: The grant period is 2.5 years with projects beginning in the  2019-2020 school year and concluding in the 2020-2021 school year.  

Grant Amount: Individual awards will not exceed $1 million.
