Grant Opportunity: The National Historical Publications and Records Commission is accepting preliminary proposals for their Access to Historical Records: Major Initiatives Grant Program for the 2021 fiscal year. This program funds projects that will improve public discovery and use of major historical records collections. The Commission is especially interested in collections of America’s early legal records.
Eligibility: U.S. nonprofits organizations, institutions of higher education (such as colleges, universities, and other academic institutions), state or local government agencies, and federally-acknowledged or state-recognized Native American tribes or groups are eligible to apply.
Grant Amount: Grants will range between $100,000 and $350,000, with awards from The Commission making up no more than 50% of the total project cost.
Grant Period: The grant period will range between one and three years with projects beginning January 1, 2021.
