Education Funding from International Paper Company

Grant Opportunity: The International Paper company provides funding for schools and community-based programs in areas where the company has operations. In New York State, International Paper has operational sites in Cheektowaga, Irondequoit, Binghamton, Utica, Schenectady, and Ticonderoga. “Organizations must be in good financial and public standing, show evidence of competent management, have low administrative/fundraising expense ratios and manage nondiscriminatory programs benefiting broad segments of the community.”

Education: Funding is prioritized for programs offering a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning with emphasis on early childhood development and literacy.

Critical Community Needs: Projects and programs that address localized needs in areas where the company has operations are eligible for funding. "A project or program does not necessarily need to benefit the community at large, but it should impact an underserved sector of the population or serve a critical need."

Eligibility: Schools and organizations with 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3) letters of determination from the IRS are eligible to apply.

Grant Amount:  awards are determined on a case-by-case basis

Grant Period: typical programs last 12 months
