Congratulations to Spring Hill College for their recent campus safety grant award from the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking (SADVDVS). Operating under the Department of Justice, OVW provides guidance and leadership in developing programs that strengthen services to survivors of SADVDVS, reduce violence against women, and administer justice in SADVDVS cases. The campus safety program assists institutions of higher education in addressing violence on campus, enhancing collaboration between school staff and local law enforcement, and as well as between school staff and local victim advocacy organizations.

Located in Mobile, Alabama, Spring Hill College is one of the oldest Jesuit institutions in the American South. With this grant award, college staff and public safety officers will develop and implement a community coordinated response (CCR) to SADVDVS incidents on campus with the Mobile Rape Crisis Center and the Mobile County District Attorney’s office.
