Grant Opportunity: K-12 educators are going above and beyond in an era of distance learning to teach students whose families are on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Geographic Society is providing funding to individual teachers to develop resources and materials for others to implement into existing and new lesson plans designed for online and hybrid instructional formats. Proposals should be scalable across a diverse range of schools and communities and will be made accessible to others through the National Geographic Society website.

Proposal topics can include, but are not limited to, the following:

Eligibility: Priority will be given to educators working remotely in communities “that have been particularly hit hard by the pandemic” and who have not previously received funding from National Geographic.

Grant Amount: Individual educators will receive between $1,000 - $8,000 to design instructional resources and materials for others who are teaching remotely.
