ACSD Virtual Symposium December 2: Fostering Success in Elementary Education

ACSD is hosting a symposium titled Student Success in the Early Grades designed for elementary teachers PreK – grade 3 and supporting administrators. The event will be held Wednesday, December 2 from 1:00 p.m.  to 5:00 p.m.; session recordings will be available on-demand until January 31, 2021.

"A high-quality education in the early grades of K–3 can increase children’s success in reading, writing, and math and set the foundation for student health and success, in later grades and in life." Sessions will concentrate on the challenges and opportunities of distance learning in an era of COVID, fostering deep learning skills in students, supporting struggling students, exploring virtual play and creativity in digital environments, and social-emotional learning strategies in digital environments. Additional topics include early childhood trauma, effective K-3 management techniques, pedagogy, and relational teaching.

Closing remarks at the end of the day will also feature an appearance by LeVar Burton, creator and host of Reading Rainbow and winner of the Peabody Award, multiple Emmy awards, and a Grammy award. Registration for the symposium begins at $49; click here for the registration form.
