Local Impact: An Update on BRI’s Evaluations Team

Brockport Research Institute is currently the external evaluator on 45 grant projects from 36 clients in the higher education field. These projects include those funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, the National Institutes of Health, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the New York State Education Department.

A number of these projects will support local institutions such as Nazareth University’s Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration. This program will promote access to high-quality mental health services for children from diverse backgrounds through the Increasing Access to Mental Health Professionals in High-Needs Schools (AMPs Up) which connects new graduate students with professional development and internship opportunities at the Greece Central School District. We are happy to share that BRI recently completed the first year of evaluations for this U.S. Department of Education-funded grant.

We are also evaluators on the State University of New York at Oswego Counseling and Psychological Services Department’s Cultivating Representation in School Psychology Program (CRISP) initiative. CRISP will provide learning opportunities for graduate students from diverse backgrounds over a 5-year grant period to prepare them for providing culturally relevant and evidence-based psychology services to students and families enrolled in the Syracuse City School District.

We are excited for all the upcoming evaluation projects in this upcoming year and look forward to continuing to work with our partners and clients.
