Funding for Preservation Projects for American Battlefields

Grant opportunity: The National Park Service American Battlefield Protection Program (NPS ABPP) is now accepting proposals for its Battlefield Restoration Grants program. This grant provides funding for community-driven partnerships aimed at preserving and restoring eligible American Revolution, War of 1812, and Civil War sites to day-of battle conditions.

ABPP distributes funds through the following grants: 

In addition, grants are distributed in the following categories: 

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, units of state or local government, nonprofit organizations, or federally recognized Native American tribal governments. Proposed American Revolution, Civil War, and War of 1812 properties must be located outside the boundaries of the National Park System. 

Grant Amount and Grant Period: Awards will range between $30,000 and $750,000 with a grant period of three years.
