Funding for New Charter Schools

Grant opportunity: To expand opportunities for all students to attend high-quality charter schools, the New York State Education Department's Charter Schools Programs (CSP) Start-Up Grants program provides funding to new charter schools for planning, program design, and initial implementation. 

Activities this funding can be used for include: 

Eligibility:  Eligible applicants include existing charter school education corporations authorized by the New York State Board of Regents or the SUNY Board of Trustees. 

Grant Amount and Grant Period: The grant amount is $12,000,000 for a three-year grant period.
