Grant Opportunity:  The New York Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (NYGEAR UP) grant is administered by the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) with the mission of increasing college access and college success and completion. This year's program will focus on reducing the number of students needing remedial classes and increasing the rate of college persistence in students enrolled in two-year community colleges in the Rochester/Buffalo region of New York.

This year's grant will provide funding to eligible applicants to provide services that support NYGEAR UP students as they enter their second year of postsecondary education. Services provided should not duplicate campus services that are already offered but rather supplement them.

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations or government entities that work with students at the following community colleges:

Grant Amount: A base award of $200 per student.  Depending on funding availability, number of students served, and services to be provided, awards may increase to a maximum of $300 per student.

Grant Period: The grant period for awards is 15 months.
