Protecting Coastal Resources: New York Sea Grant

Grant Opportunity: New York Sea Grant (NYSG) is accepting pre-proposals for its Biennial Research program as part of its strategic plan for 2018-2023. Research in biology, chemistry, geology, physical oceanography, engineering, social science, and others, will generate and provide valid scientific information that will further the sustainable development, use, protection, conservation, and management of our coastal resources.

Eligibility: IHEs (i.e. universities, four-year colleges, and/or two-year colleges) and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (including community-based organizations)

Grant Amount/ Grant Period: The grant period is two (2) years beginning February 1, 2022; grant recipients will receive approximately $120,000 per year.

Important Dates: Thursday, February 25, 2021: Deadline for pre-proposals. Pre-proposals must be uploaded in PDF form no later than 4:30 according to the clock on the application website.

                              Thursday, June 14, 2021: Deadline for full proposals. Authorized signatures are required for full proposals.

                              Tuesday, February 1, 2022: Funding released for new projects.
