Connecting Kids to Parks Program Provides Reimbursement for Field Trips

Grant Opportunity: The New York State Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation seeks to connect youth in New York State with the outdoors through its Connect-Kids-to-Parks Field Trip Grant Program. This program provides reimbursement to schools and organizations for field trips to state and federal parks, forests, historic sites, fish hatcheries and outdoor recreation areas.
 
Eligibility:  Eligible applicants include New York State public schools, county, city, town or village youth bureaus, BOCES Programs, and nonprofit organizations that are prequalified on the New York State Grants Gateway.
 
Grant Amount/ Grant Period: The Connect-Kids-to-Parks Field Trip Grant Program will reimburse applying organizations at a rate of $40 per student ($80 per student in Special Education programs).
 
Grant Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants must apply at least two weeks before the scheduled field trip date.
