Creating an Early Childhood Personnel Equity Center for Young Children with Disabilities

Grant Opportunity: In order to support the early learning needs of children with disabilities from racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse backgrounds, the U.S. Department of Education is funding the creation and operation of a Early Childhood Personnel Equity Center through their Personnel Development To Improve Services and Results for Children With Disabilities—Early Childhood Personnel Equity Center grant. This center will increase the diversity of early childhood educators and service providers, ensure that they are prepared with the knowledge and skills to evidence-based interventions and services to young children with disabilities and their families.
 
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include state educational agencies, state lead agencies as defined by IDEA, local educational agencies, institutions of higher education, public agencies, nonprofit organizations, for-profit organizations, units of State, and Tribal governments.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: The maximum award is $2,000,000 per year. The grant period is 60 months.
