Creating Mental Health Collaboration Programs for Those in Contact With the Justice System

Grant Opportunity: The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is now accepting applications for their Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMHCP). This program provides funding for programs that promote collaboration across the justice system, social services, and mental health/ substance use and abuse services in order to improve public safety responses and outcomes for individuals with mental health disorders who come in contact with the justice system.
 
JMHCP-funded programs will accomplish the following:
 
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include units of township, city, county of state governments, Native American tribal governments, special district governments, and public or state-controlled institutions of higher education.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: The maximum amount awarded is $550,000. The grant period is 36 months.
