May 05, 2022 at 11:35 pm by Amanda Lai

Grant Opportunity: In order to address the rising high school dropout rate among youth in New York State, the New York State Education Department's Liberty Partnerships Program provides funding for partnerships between institutions of higher education (IHEs), schools, and community organizations. These partnerships will develop and administer a continuity of services to students at-risk of dropping out throughout their progression through secondary school.

Eligibility: New York IHEs or a consortium of IHES in partnership with local education agencies and community based organizations are eligible to apply. In regions of the state where there are no IHEs to provide services to students, community based organizations may serve as the lead applicant.

Grant Amount and Grant Period: The minimum award for the 2022-2023 performance year is $250,000. The grant period is five years with projects starting on September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2027. Funding in years two through five is dependent on satisfactory performance, legislative appropriation, and the submission of an updated proposed project budget
