Responding to Climate Change in the Humanities

Grant Opportunity: In response to climate change and the increasing frequency of natural disasters, the National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) is providing funding through its Climate Smart Humanities Organizations program for activities that will reduce the environmental impact of humanities organizations as well as mitigate the effects of extreme weather events on assets.
 
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, public or nonprofit institutions of higher education, units of state or local government, federally recognized Native American Tribal governments, or consortiums thereof that work primarily in the humanities.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: The maximum award amount is $300,000 with a grant period of 24 months beginning on October 1, 2023.
 
Application Deadline: January 17th, 2023
