Funding for Energy Infrastructure in Rural Communities

Grant Opportunity: The U.S. Department of Agriculture's High Energy Cost Grant program provides funding for rural retail or power providers to acquire or improve infrastructure that will lower overall energy costs for families and individuals in communities with high energy costs.
 
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include retail or power supply providers (including state and local governmental entities, federally-recognized Tribes and Tribal entities, non-profits, or for-profit businesses) serving rural communities with an annual average household energy cost exceeding 275 percent of the national average.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: Awards will range between $100,000 and $3,000,000 with a grant period of three years.
