Supporting Food Safety Outreach and Education Programs

Grant Opportunity: In order to help farmers and small food processors prepare for and adapt to new food safety requirements, the National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s Food Safety Outreach Program provides funding for organizations, institutions of higher education, extensions, and cooperatives to develop outreach, education, training, and technical assistance projects around food safety.

Grants are administered in the following categories:

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include Cooperative Extension Services for U.S. states or territories, nongovernmental/ community-based organizations representing owners and operators of farms, small food processors, or small fruit and vegetable merchant wholesalers, institutions of higher education, Federal, State, local, or tribal agencies, or a combination of the above.

Grant Amount and Grant Period: Award amounts and grant periods will vary depending on the project category.

Applications Due: February 13th, 2024
