Grant Funding for Clean Heavy Duty Vehicles

Grant Opportunity: The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grant Program aims to reduce harmful emissions, particularly in communities disproportionately burdened by air pollution. To this end, this program will provide funding for the replacement of heavy-duty non-zero emission vehicles with zero-emission options as well as infrastructure and workforce development required to support the maintenance and operation of these vehicles.

Grants are administered under the following two tracks:

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include states and U.S. territories, municipalities, school districts, Native Indian tribes, and nonprofit school transportation associations.

Grant Amount and Grant Period: Awards will range between $500,000 to $60 million with a grant period of 24 months starting in January 2025. In select cases, a grant period of 36 months may be allowed depending on activities, timeline, and milestones detailed in the work plan.
