Grant Opportunity: The New York State Department of Labor's Teacher Residency Program (TRP) aims to address statewide teacher shortages by partially or fully funding master’s degrees for graduate-level PK-12 teacher candidates enrolled in New York State Education Department residency programs. Funded programs would involve the State University of New York (SUNY), the City University of New York (CUNY), and/or NYS private colleges and universities, all with registered residency programs, partnering with public school districts/BOCES.
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include NYS public school districts, an NYS BOCES, or a consortium of such. Applicants must partner with at least one institution of higher education.
Grant Amount and Grant Period: TRP will award up to $30,000 per resident for a total minimum award of $30,000 and a maximum award of $12 million. The grant period is up to 24 months between April 7, 2023, and June 30, 2026.
