A new grant opportunity is available: Removing Barriers to CTE Programs for English Language Learner’s and Students with Disabilities Grant Application

Agency: NYS Education Department

Purpose: This program seeks to help eliminate barriers faced by students with disabilities and English language/multilingual learners face as they work towards high school graduation in Career and Technical Education programs (CTE).

Applicants should identify specific barriers faced by these students in their CTE programs and suggest how partnering with other organizations will help overcome these barriers.  Costs associated with a plan of action should be one-time expenses.

Eligibility: Local Educational Agencies (LEA), BOCES (lead agencies) in partnership with institutions of higher education, community and business organizations

Grant period:  September 1, 2017- August 31, 2018

Application Due Date: March 2

Funding availability: $1 million is available statewide with awards of not more than $200,000 each.
