National Science Foundation S-STEM Awards Available

Upcoming Grant Opportunity: 

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program provides awards to institutions of higher education (IHEs) to fund scholarships and advance activities that support recruitment, retention, and graduation in STEM disciplines.

IHEs may submit proposals in the following tracks:

  • Track 1 grants are Institutional Capacity Building grants that support new collaborative partnerships and infrastructure. 
  • Track 2 grants are Design and Development grants that support efforts in singular institutions to address well-documented institutional needs or concerns surrounding recruitment, retention, and student success. 
  • Track 3 grants are Design and Development grants that support efforts by consortia to address multi-institutional needs or concerns surrounding recruitment, retention, and student success. 

Eligibility: Institutions of higher education that grant associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degrees in eligible S-STEM disciplines in the United States or United States territories are eligible to apply. 

Grant Amount:   Track 1 proposals may request up to $650,000. Proposals for Track 2 may request up to $1.0 million.  Proposals for Track 3 may request up to $5.0 million. 

Grant Period: The grant period for all three tracks is five years. 

Submission Deadline:  March 27, 2019
