The Teagle Foundation Seeking Concept Papers

Mar 29, 2019 at 09:00 am by Amanda Lai

Grant Opportunity: The Teagle Foundation is now accepting concept papers for their Pathways to the Liberal Arts grant program. This initiative supports the implementation of curriculum reforms to deepen student learning in the liberal arts and promote retention and graduation. The Teagle Foundation is particularly interested in concepts that focus on low-income students, first-generation students, and students of color.

The program offers grants in three areas of focus.

  • Strengthening access to the liberal arts during the college transition through the development of rigorous preparatory programs for underserved high school students in the local community.
  • Strengthening transfer access through academic partnerships between public two-year and private four-year colleges to facilitate the transfer and completion of a baccalaureate in the liberal arts.
  • Strengthening the rigor and quality of liberal arts pathways at two- and four-year colleges through curricular redesign efforts or fundamental reform of general education programs.

Eligibility: Higher education institutions, including community colleges, liberal arts colleges, and research universities, are eligible to apply.

Grant Period: Funded projects will take place over a 24 to 36 month period.

Grant Amount: Awards will range from $100,000 to $400,000, depending on the scope of the project.

Application Deadline: The Teagle Foundation accepts concept papers on a rolling basis.  If a proposal is invited, program staff will confer with applicants to determine the appropriate timeline for submitting a full proposal.
