We're excited to share that Brockport Research Institute (BRI) Consultant Tricia Snyder, LMSW is providing coaching and professional development to the Wayne County Schools consortium, consisting of Sodus, Red Creek, Newark, North Rose Wolcott, Lyons, and Clyde Savannah school districts. These professional development workshops are provided through Title IV funding aligned with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and focus on utilizing the Community Schools Approach within a Multiple Tiered Systems of Support framework to meet the needs of students, families, and community members.
Using the community school- a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources- as its core unit, the Community Schools Approach promotes improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities through an integrated focus on academics, health, and social services, youth and community development, community engagement, and trauma-informed social and emotional learning
BRI’s partnership with the Wayne County Schools consortium includes working with school administrators to support ESSA evaluation, goal implementation aligned with each district’s strategic plan, data-based decision making, and ongoing building of community partnerships.
"Tricia has been providing coaching and professional development directly to District Leadership Teams and Student Support Teams across a continuum of support,” comments Jay Roscup, Project Director, School Climate Transformation and ESSA Grants, “Her expertise has helped schools to integrate and align practices and build an awareness that this work is cohesive and achievable."
We look forward to this continuing partnership with the Wayne County Schools consortium!
