The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation provides funding for K-12 and pre-collegiate students across the country and around the world. "We believe the best way to address poverty is to expand educational opportunities that enable all children to success in school, careers and life. We make grants to help all children, especially those in underserved communities, acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviors they need to succeed in college, career pathways and life."
Funding is available nationwide for programs in the following strategic areas:
- Advancing Afterschool: activities can include, but are note limited to, building an afterschool infrastructure, fostering afterschool policies, and improving afterschool quality and innovation.
- Graduating High School College & Career Ready: "High-quality college and career readiness programming can help young people develop these competencies. In addition to college and career awareness, quality programming can help students develop skills and behaviors associated with success in both educational and employment settings."
- Youth Engagement: the foundation prioritizes programs that seek to engage youth through service activities and volunteerism, and youth entrepreneurship.
Letters of Intent are accepted any time via the foundation’s online form.
