Family and Community Engagement Program: Supporting Academic Success for Young Men

Grant Opportunity: The Family and Community Engagement Program (FCEP) seeks to increase college and career readiness for young men of color. FCEP identifies strategies and outcomes to better engage families and the wider community in the academic success of these students. Program funds can be used for the following:

  • Program administration (salaries, Professional Development, "release time" for program planning, etc.)
  • Program activities (community events, promotional activities, awards ceremonies, etc.)
  • Supplies & materials (computer equipment and software)

Eligibility: New York State school districts may apply individually or as a consortium, see RFP for details

Grant Period: The program last four years: 2021-2025. (Program years run from September 1 – August 31 each year of the grant period).

Grant Amount: Awards vary for individual applications and consortium programs; see RFP for details.

Schools in New York City may receive $100,000 each year; Rest of State (ROS) schools may receive $125,000 each year.

Important Dates: Applications must be postmarked by Monday, February 1, 2021.
