Opportunity: Small grants are available from New York Sea Grant (NYSG) for project and programs that will have a lasting positive impact on the environment and economies in the Great Lakes basin of New York State. Proposals that describe projects engaging with local youth (under the age of 21) for formal or informal educational experiences are encouraged for this grant period.
Eligibility: Organizations located in the NYS Great Lakes Basin are encouraged to apply including the following:
- Not-for-profit organizations,
- County and local governmental or public agencies (municipalities, regional planning or environmental commissions, etc.)
- Public and private K-12 schools and IHEs (i.e. universities, four-year colleges, and/or two-year colleges)
Grant Award/ Grant Period: Request may be up to $25,000 in total costs. Projects are expected to begin July 1, 2021 and end December 31, 2022.
Important Dates: The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, April 30, 2021.
