Supporting the Transition to High School through Extracurriculars

Grant Opportunity: Research has found that quality extracurricular activities can positively affect the the transition between middle and high school as well as lifelong academic trajectory of students. The New York Life Foundation's Aim High Grant Program provides support for afterschool and summer programs that prepare middle-school students for the critical transition into high school. Awards are available as one or two-year grants. One-year grants will support programs' efforts to promote social and racial equity. Two-year grants will support programs' direct service activities, technical assistance, and capacity building efforts to serve youth.
 
Eligibility: Nonprofit 501c(3) organizations that serve 6th, 7th, or 8th graders with a majority of these youths coming from low-income households are eligible to apply.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: $15, 0000 will be awarded for one-year grants for the grant period between June 2022 through May 2023. Two-year grants will be awarded in two tiers- $25,000 per year for a total of $50,000 over two years and $50, 000 per year for a total of $100, 000 over two years- for the grant period between June 2022 through May 2024 dependent on the applicant's annual budget.
