Congratulations to Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (KU) for their recent Organizational Change for Gender Equity in STEM Academic Professions (ADVANCE) - Catalyst Project award from the National Science Foundation! Brockport Research Institute had helped KU write and put together a proposal for their ADVANCE project, "Research, Educate and Value Equity at All Levels in STEM” (REVEALS), which will examine the faculty experience and underlying causes of inequity at Kutztown in order to foster gender equity and address rates of retention and advancement of underrepresented STEM faculty. This five-year project will also pilot a faculty equity advocate position and an online clearinghouse to centralize and improve access to resources for faculty.
ADVANCE will culminate in a strategic plan that will address faculty equity through sustainable, tailored strategies while also contributing to national knowledge on improving equity in STEM.
