With over 12 years as a higher education administrator, Charlana was awarded more than $10.5M in federal, state, and privately funded grants including NSF LSAMP and S-STEM, and US Dept. of Education Upward Bound and McNair grants. Charlana’s expertise includes critical race theory with a focus on issues of equity in education. Her publication credits include articles for the International Journal of Qualitative Research and co-editor of Intersectionality & Higher Education: Theory, Research, & Praxis.
