Dr. Emily Mehlman is an educator and scientist with over 10 years of experience in higher education. As a scientist at Dartmouth and the University of Rochester, she performed neurophysiology experiments investigating the electrical properties of human and rodent neurons of the cortex. As an educator at Dartmouth and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), she taught courses in science, metacognition, and pedagogy to students ranging from high school and college aged youth to adults in graduate and professional schools. Additionally, she served as a Core Organizer with the Access Network, furthering diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in academia. She worked as program manager for the Learning Assistant Program at RIT for 3 years and has extensive experience submitting RO1s, cooperative agreement U grants, and fellowships to the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and other funding associations.
