Kaitlyn Evans is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Secondary Education at Illinois State University, with a background in K–12 education, teacher preparation, and educational research. She is an experienced program evaluator for several K–12 and higher education grants, including the New York State Education Department’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, and has written successful proposals for the U.S. Department of Education’s TRIO Student Support Services programs. In this role, she provides evaluation, data analysis, and guidance to ensure programs align with grant goals and demonstrate measurable outcomes. Her research explores the intersection of reading and writing, emphasizing literacy as a tool for equity and access. Kaitlyn regularly presents at state and national conferences, and her scholarly work includes multiple publications and co-edited special journal issues across diverse areas of education. focuses on literacy from a place of equity and inclusion and she is well-versed in both quantitative and qualitative methodology. She has multiple publications and has co-edited special editions of scholarly journals across various educational topics.
