Laura Cochell

Laura Cochell is a Program Evaluator at BRI with a background in education and educational research. She currently serves as an evaluator for several educational grants including the NYS Education Department 21st Century Community Learning Centers, the US Dept. of Education Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language, and Full-Service Community Schools grant programs. Prior to joining BRI, Laura was a teacher for several years and worked with students ranging from Preschool to 6th grade. She later pursued a Master’s and Doctorate in education. She is well-versed in qualitative research methods, including performing interviews, focus groups, and observations. As a researcher, she focused primarily on reforming math education and combating unequal power dynamics and inequitable conditions that undergird the educational system. She has co-authored several articles aligned with her research interests that have been published in scholarly journals.
