Our Mission & Philosophy
Brockport Research Institute is fully dedicated to researching, implementing, and evaluating educational and charitable projects. We pride ourselves in being a reliable resource for our clients who can count on us to give them focused, customized, and collaborative attention.
We are certified in New York as a Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and as such, can help you meet the M/WBE requirements found on many governments funded projects.
History of BRI
Dr. Silverstone founded BRI in 2013 after a 20-year career in science research and education. BRI has a diverse project portfolio, a committed group of contract Associates, and a strategic plan for the future. BRI works with educational institutions nationwide from pre-K through post-doctoral. We also assist non-profits and government agencies as they work towards their organizations’ goals.
Meet Some of Our Professionals
Our Associates include PhDs in natural and social sciences, mathematicians, accountants, teachers, and professional writers. We have an extended network of subject area experts we can tap into as needed.
Dr. Sara Silverstone holds a BS in Philosophy from SUNY Cortland and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California at Davis.
Tracy Herman, M.A. is our Evaluation Director. For 20+ years, she has been providing formative and summative evaluations, from the local through the national level.
Marcie earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Manitoba with specialization in developmental disabilities, applied behavior analysis, and computer applications in psychology.
Lynn holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and has earned her New York State Professional Engineering License.
Dr. Pamela Beach is a grant writer and an evaluation associate at Brockport Research Institute. She is also a Professor at the State University of New York, College at Brockport.
Colonel Thomas Nicoll is Senior Business Advisor at Brockport Research Institute. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Notre Dame and a Master’s of Social Science from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Dr. Michelle Kavanaugh is recently retired with 39 years in education, including 11 years as a Superintendent of Schools for the City of Plattsburgh and Honeoye Falls-Lima School Districts.
Shellie is a PhD student at the University of Rochester, and holds a Master’s Degree in History from SUNY Brockport.
Dr. Peter Kalenda is a Professor of Elementary & Secondary Science Education at The College at Brockport, as well as a certified program evaluator specializing in collaborative evaluation techniques for educational and science-based organizations.
Bill Lynch is recently retired with 39 years spent in Public Education. He has been the Work Force Liaison, Co-Chairperson of the Governance Team and former Principal of the Oswego County P-TECH Program.
