Grant opportunity: The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets' Urban Farms and Community Gardens Grant Program provides funding for the development and expansion of community gardens, school gardens, and urban farms with the aim of increasing food resiliency among New Yorkers.
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, nonprofit educational institutions (such as K12 schools and universities), municipal government entities, Indian tribal organizations, and community-led groups applying with a fiscal sponsor.
Grant Amount and Grant Period: Awards will range between $25,000 and $50,000, with a grant period running between January 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.
