Grant opportunity: The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is now accepting proposals for Round 2 of its Green Jobs for Youth - Skills Training Grant program. This program provides funding for Tribal and community organizations to develop job training programs that prepare youth in Disadvantaged Communities (DAC) and Potential Environmental Justice Areas (PEJA) for careers in green industries. Projects should partner with employers and result in participants receiving nationally recognized certification, a skill set certificate, a certificate degree, or a comparable certification.
Eligibility: Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations based in the United States or tribal organizations recognized by New York State or the United States with a reservation located within New York State are eligible to apply. Applicant organizations must 1.) Serve residents in at least one DAC and PEJA communities in New York State, and 2.) Not have an annual revenue exceeding $5,000,000.
Grant Amount and Grant Period: The maximum awarded will be $250,000 with a grant period of 36 months beginning May 1st, 2026.
