Utilizing Peer Mentorship to Support the Needs of Those with Dual Diagnosis of Mental Health and IDD

Grant opportunity: The New York Council of Developmental Disabilities' Peer-Mentoring Mental Health and IDD Dual Diagnosis grant program provides funding for organizations or institutions to develop a peer mentorship program focused on the mental health and skill development needs of one or both of the following populations: 

  • Adults with a dual diagnosis of an intellectual/ developmental disability (IDD) and a mental health diagnosis
  • Families and caregivers of adults with a dual IDD and mental health diagnosis

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include nonprofit and community organizations, public or private institutions (such as universities, colleges, or hospitals), tribal organizations, or a consortia of such. 

Grant Amount and Grant Period: The maximum award granted is $200,000 per year over a four-year grant period.  

Important Dates: 

  • December 1st, 2025: Deadline to receive questions
  • January 9th, 2026: Application due
