Funding for Trauma-Informed School-Based Mental Health Initiatives

Grant Opportunity: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Trauma-Informed Services in Schools grant program aims to increase student access to evidence-based support services and mental health care by providing funding to partnerships between mental health service systems and educational agencies. Funded projects will develop and implement school-based trauma-informed mental health support services, as well as training and community/ family engagement plans. 
 
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include State Education Agencies of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. outlying areas, local educational agencies, Indian Tribes or their Tribal Educational Agencies, a school operated by the Bureau of Indian Education, Regional Corporation, and Native Hawaiian Educational Organizations.
 
Grant Amount and Grant Period: The estimated award is $970,000 per year over a four year grant period.
