National Historical Publications & Records Commission Grant for Historical Archiving Projects

Grant Opportunity: The National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC)'s Publishing Historical Records in Documentary Editions grant program supports the publication of documentary editions of historical documents related to broad historical movements in U.S. history. Projects should result in the creation of digital transcriptions of original manuscripts, typewritten documents or analog audio, and should focus on engaging the public, expanding civic education, and promoting understanding of the nation’s history, democracy, and culture from the founding era to present day. 
 
Eligibility: Collaborative teams comprising of at least two scholar-editors and one or more archivists, digital scholars, data curators, and/or other support and technical staff from U.S. institutions of higher learning, state or local agencies, or federally recognized Native American tribes or groups are eligible to apply. 

Grant Amount: Awards will be a maximum of $75,000. 

Grant Period: The grant period for this grant is one year. 

Application Deadline: June 1, 2020
