Grant Opportunity: The National Endowment for the Arts' (NEA) Challenge America program supports equal access to the arts in the United States by providing funding for projects that extends the reach of the arts to underserved populations.
Eligibility: Nonprofit 501(c)(3), U.S. organizations; units of state or local government, local education agencies such as school districts, federally recognized tribal communities or tribes, or any organization that can further the mission of the NEA are eligible to apply. Applicants must either be first time applicants to NEA grants or have not received funding from the NEA in the past three fiscal years. Grant Amount/ Grant Period: Awards are $10,000, and project activities generally cover up to two years. Projects will begin January 1, 2022.

- March 30: Finalize registration on the SAM.gov website
- April 13: Finalize registration on the Grants.gov website
- April 22: Deadline to submit application to Grants.gov portal
- May 4: Deadline to submit application to Applicant portal
