National Science Foundation Now Accepting Applications for CAREER Program

Grant Opportunity: The National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program provides support for early career faculty that show potential for leadership in research and education at institutions of higher education or non-profit, non-academic organizations. CAREER funds projects and activities that, over the lifetime of the grant, advance the faculty member's career goals and job responsibilities as well as the mission of the department or organization.
 
Grants are distributed in the following fields:
  • Engineering
  • Mathematical and Physical Sciences
  • Geosciences
  • Computer and Information Science and Engineering
  • Biological Sciences
  • Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences
  • Education and Human Resources
  • International Science and Engineering
  • Integrative Activities
 
Eligibility:  Two- and four-year institutions of higher education with campuses located in the United States are eligible to apply. In addition, non-profit, non-academic organizations that engage in educational or research activities are also eligible to apply.
 
Grant Amount/ Grant Period: CAREER grants will award a minimum of $400,000 over a five-year period with the following exception: Awards in the biological science, the engineering, or polar program fields are expected to award a minimum of $500,000 for the 5-year duration.
 
Grant Deadline: July 26th, 2021
