Grant Opportunity: The New York State Office of Mental Health(OMH) thru its Suicide Prevention Center of New York (SPCNY) is now accepting applications for their Delivering Sources of Strength grant. This program provides funding for nonprofit organizations to implement Sources of Strength, a suicide prevention program, in New York State secondary schools and youth serving organizations for students between grades 8 through 12. Sources of Strength is a nationally recognized upstream suicide prevention program that involves training diverse peer leaders to conduct prevention activities that promote healthy coping norms and youth-adult connectedness.
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that have experience with implementing evidence-based prevention programming in youth serving organizational settings, such as schools.
Grant Amount and Grant Period: This grant will provide $142,160 of funding per year for five years.
