Grant Opportunity: The New York State Commission on National and Community Service is now accepting proposals from New York State nonprofit organizations for their New York State AmeriCorps 2022-2023 Competitive Pool program. Funding from this program will support organizations' efforts to recruit, place, and supervise AmeriCorps members to address issues in their community through service and volunteerism.
Awards are available in the following categories:

Individual Competitive State/Territory Grant

Full-Cost Competitive Fixed Amount Grant

Professional Corps Competitive Grants- Places qualified professionals in communities with a lack of professionals in the field

Segal AmeriCorps Education Award- Provides funding for AmeriCorps members who complete their service term to pay for college or graduate school at Title IV eligible schools, or to repay qualified student loans.
Eligibility: Public or private nonprofit organizations- including faith-based organizations, institutions of higher education, state agencies or non-federal governmental entities, among others) located in New York State are eligible to apply.
Applicant organizations should focus on at least one of the following areas:

Education grants

Environmental stewardship

Healthy futures

Veteran and military family services
Grant Amount and Grant Period: The grant period for the New York State AmeriCorps 2022-2023 Competitive Pool is 39 months, made up of three 15-month contract periods. Awards for Individual Competitive State/Territory Grant and Full-Cost Competitive Fixed Amount Grants are at a maximum of $21,600 per AmeriCorps member per service year. Awards in the Professional Corps category will fund a maximum of $1,000 per AmeriCorps member per service year. Awards in the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award category will provide a maximum of either $800 per AmeriCorps member per service year or $1, 000 per AmeriCorps member per service year if at least 50% of individuals enrolled in the program are identified as disadvantaged youth.
