Grant Opportunity: The U.S. Department of Education is now accepting proposals for their Teacher Quality Partnership Grant Program. This program provides funding for partnerships between local education agencies (LEA), high-need schools, and partner institutions of higher education (IHEs) to hold preparation and professional development programs for teachers and educational professionals.
Proposals are accepted in four priority categories.

Priority One- Partnership Grants for the Preparation of Teachers proposals will focus on implementing teacher preparation programs at the pre-baccalaureate or “fifth-year” level licensing program. Programs should implement curriculum reforms that integrate pedagogy and classroom practice.

Priority Two- Partnership Grants for the Establishment of Effective Teaching Residency Programs proposals will implement teacher residency programs for recent graduates or mid-career professionals.

Priority Three- Partnership Grants for the Development of Leadership Programs in Conjunction With the Preparation of Teachers Under Absolute Priority 1 proposals will implement school leadership programs that will prepare individuals from teacher preparation programs from the Priority 1 category for careers as superintendents, principals, ECE program directors, or other school leaders.

Priority Four- Partnership Grants for the Development of Leadership Programs in Conjunction With the Establishment of an Effective Teaching Residency Program Under Absolute Priority 2 proposals will implement school leadership programs that will prepare individuals from residency programs from the Priority 2 category for careers as superintendents, principals, ECE program directors, or other school leaders.
Eligibility: Eligible applicants include partnerships between the following:

A high-need local educational agency

A high-need school, high-need early childhood education program program, or a consortium of high-need schools served by the LEA

A partner institution and a department or program of education within the institution as well as school or department of arts and sciences within the institution
Grant Amount and Grant Period: Awards range between $500,000 and $2,000,000.
