Grant Opportunity: The McKinney-Vento Grant program is currently accepting proposals for projects for 2022-2025. Distributed by the New York State Education Department, McKinney-Vento grants fund the development and implementation of programs and activities that expand services for students in temporary housing in order to improve their attendance, engagement, and academic success.
Eligibility: New York State local educational agencies such as public school districts, BOCES, and charter schools are eligible to apply for McKinney-Vento Grants. BOCES may only apply as part of a consortium. The NYC Department of Education is the eligible school district applicant in NYC, not individual Community School Districts. Applicant agencies must also have an identified minimum average of 100 students in temporary housing in the 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 school years; however, agencies that have less than the minimum average of 100 students may apply as a consortium in order to meet the minimum.
