Grant Opportunity: The New York State Education Department's 2023-2024 Universal Prekindergarten Expansion Grant provides funding for New York State School districts to establish new full-day and half-day to full-day prekindergarten placements for four-year-old students.
Eligibility: All public school districts who were not awarded funding under “School Year 2022-2023 Universal Prekindergarten Expansion Grant for New Full-Day and Half-Day to Full-Day Placements for Four-Year-Old Students” are eligible to apply for this grant program – Round 2.
Programming: Full-day prekindergarten for four-year-olds, starting in September 2023 and running for 180 days.
Grant Amount and Grant Period: Award amounts are determined based on teacher certification. Awards can range from $7,000-$10,000 per student.
